Writing Workshop:

Religion: Chapter 7: Our Church Believes in the Holy Spirit
We will be looking at the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Social Studies: Chapter 2: Types of Communities: Continents and Oceans
Map Skills focusing on Maps vs. Globes
Map Project will be given this week: I will be giving the directions and rubric once we return in January.

Science:
Different Ecosystems: We will learn about We will learn about 2 water ecosystems - ponds and oceans.

Notes to 3A Parents:

I hope that you and your family experienced the peace and joy of the holiday season. Thank you for the gifts I received - they were wonderful and I thank you for remembering me.

We will be starting to read Charlotte's Web next week! Please make sure your child has a copy of Charlotte's Web. We will be reading two chapters a week.

Students should be studying their multiplication facts. We made 0's, 1's, 2's. We will be making 5's and 3's this week. We will be starting Rocket math-Multiplication. Students will also need a deck of playing cards. Please make sure they have their names on the cards. Finally, students are to bring in a large Pringle's Potato Chip can for a project. Make sure their names are on the can. If you have any additional Pringle cans, please send them in.

SJS is collecting soda can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Students can bring these in at any time. Don't forget about Box Tops!

You may only use 5 minutes of D.E.A.R. time for each school day. Make sure you record the minutes on the December calendars. Please note that a minimum on 300 minutes are to be read in December. Calendars are due on January 5th. January calendars will be e-mailed this week.

Please review your child's assignment book nightly. This will keep you informed about upcoming tests, quizzes and projects. Sometimes tests, quizzes and projects may change due to extenuating circumstances.
